I loved the original show as a kid, but it hasn't aged that well, and the new version couldn't be more different. It's probably the first real 'adult' sci-fi ever done on TV. Highly recommended.
Another good reason for watching is Jambie Bamber. He's apparently british, and does a not-very-convincing job of playing an american 'jock', but he's good to look at :
